The police have stated that 80% of systems which are installed in the UK are not fit for purpose, and therefore, unlikely to be usable in a court of law. With so many professionals getting it wrong you will understand the difficulties faced by someone, without professional training, installing their own system. There is no doubt that having a professional organisation design and install your CCTV will cost more than installing it yourself but if you install it yourself and it does not meet current police requirements you may well have wasted all the money you spent.
