Special Needs Schools

Many Special Needs Schools are now considering the use of CCTV for a variety of applications. These include video recording assessments or violence, monitoring of sensitive areas or as a training aid where staff can review their own lessons. In another application it is for teachers to monitor another member of staff where being physically in the classroom may in itself change pupil behaviour. Another school is looking for a system to cover the outside of the building and to prevent pupils wandering off. Cameras can often be used to monitor external doors where, because the building is in twenty-four hour use, conventional alarm systems are of little use.
